SEO For Bing

Bing is a search engine managed by Microsoft. The blooming is very great, with large number of increasement on market share. Now, Bing is on 2th most popular search engine, defeated Yahoo. Of course Microsft wants to defeat Google. Is the plan will be a reality? Let us wait and see ;).

Talk about SEO, we must optimalize our ranking on all search engines, do not care about how big is it. Almost all of SEO tutorial addressed for Google search engine optimization but I rare find Bing’s. When I visiting a webmaster forum, and visit SEO forum, I found 3 categories there : Google, Yahoo, and Bing. Google’s forum is crowded, followed by Yahoo, and I see only 1 topic on Bing category. And the topic is wondering why no one post something. Because it, I want to share some tips to get good ranking on Bing.

Small Size

I checked some SEO contest keyword and found the first rank is a very simple blog, with 1 image, and minimalized theme. Example, I found a Bing search engine optimization contest winner use default wordpress theme. It have only 1 image with small size. So, the conclusion is this SE loves simple and small blog.

Long Content

I made a new content for my oes tsetnoc entry that have 1000 words. Previously, my entry ranked 5-10. But after posted the new content, ping it on ping service, wait 1-2 days, and I found my website ranked first! I wonder what the cause of it. So, make a very long content and see what will happen!

Domain age

I strongly recommend you to use old domain for Bing SEO. 1 year old domain or older is better. For Google, new domain can easily reach top position, but not on Bing. That is why the Bing is But Its Not Google. It makes some people hard to get good ranking for both search engines.

New page

I found my dummy article that linking to oes tsetnoc page ranked well. The page even have no keyword on the title. The page have no backlink! But, it is a new post. Why it ranked well? The only factor that I can found that because it is a new page.

Public Website

Google loves blog, but Bing loves pulic website. Forums, social networks, and directories always ranked well. So, if you willing to get good ranked well on this strange SE, make forum or directory.

Exact Anchor Text

For instance, I have a blog that talk about Freeware. Usually, I use anchor text variation when I do link builing. It have more weight in Google but not for Bing. Use same anchor text for all backlinks and you will ranked well. But, so not over do it. Just collect 20-30 backlinks in one day, because if you collect over 100 backlinks from various websites on one day, Google sandbox waiting you!

Conclusion

Small size + long content + New page + Public Website = Success on Bing. It is hard to ranked well on Bing but ranked well on Google too. You should choose on what SE you want to fight. But I personally prefer Google because it is very challanging.
