What is Emoticon?

In this joomla tutorial blog, I am very rare to use emoticon. But, in forums and Yahoo Messenger, I am very interested with that. What is emoticon? Emoticon stands for emotion icon. You can use emotion icons if you want to describe what you want to say but you can not say it in words. It also can make the discussion relaxer.
Emoticons is same with smileys. Firstly, smiley is a smiling face. But now, there are many emotion in the smilyes, like sad, laugh, silly, and others. In my favorite forums, id-joomla, the emotion icon is very nice and it makes me love to use it. But on adsense-id, the smileys is an animation. One of them is a face that showing his teeth. And the teeth is shining.
How to use emoticon?
In email provider like Yahoo, the emoticons is provided. There are many emotion icon that you can use. If you proud with something, you can use :D emoticon, or if you correcting someone’s mistake, it is better to use :P to make the situation relaxer.
In forums like oes tsetnoc forum(promojunkie), you can find it arround the reply box. Usually, there is a link to more smilyes, maybe the link named more smileys. If you not satisfied to use only one, you can repeat it as much as you want. It makes you funnier. In a Indonesia webmaster forum, a girl member is very rare. So, if a woman posted something, there are many man member post a smiley with a man bringing a rose. Lol
